The BEDIMO Story: Mastering Long-Term Site Logistics
BEDIMO is a recognized expert in office planning and professional furniture. Operating on projects that are often complex and span several months, the company must juggle thousands of references, staggered deliveries, and strict installation constraints to meet the requirements of its institutional and private clients.
The Challenges of a Large-Scale Digital Transition
The transition to Odoo represented a major logistical and financial challenge for BEDIMO, as the company could not afford a service interruption on its current contracts.
Migration of critical "work-in-progress": Transferring thousands of open order lines, sometimes dating back two years, without losing the history of deliveries already made.
Complex financial management: Reconciling down payments received in the old system with future final billings in Odoo.
Logistical traceability: Precisely tracking supplier receipts and partial deliveries on sites whose schedules are constantly evolving.
The Idealis solution: Strategic migration and operational continuity
1. A hybrid migration methodology
For BEDIMO, Idealis deployed a specific "live data recovery" approach. In collaboration with the partner STML, we orchestrated a meticulous transfer of the sales backlog:
- Cleaning and mapping: Each open order was analyzed to be injected into Odoo with its real progress status (delivered/not delivered, invoiced/not invoiced).
- Securing the history: This fundamental work allowed BEDIMO teams to switch to Odoo without an administrative "black hole," ensuring that every down payment made by a client was correctly recovered.
2. Optimization of long logistical flows
We configured Odoo to meet the specificities of office planning:
- Receipts and partial deliveries: Structuring the Inventory module to manage flows of goods arriving bit by bit according to the progress of the building site.
- Management of linked purchases: Automating the link between customer orders and supplier orders to guarantee that each piece of furniture is reserved for the right project.
3. Change management and stabilization
Beyond the technical aspect, Idealis provided close support to help BEDIMO teams take ownership of the new work-in-progress management logic. This stabilization phase was crucial to transform a complex migration project into a daily operational success, allowing total fluidity between the sales department, logistics, and accounting.
A technological foundation for sustainable growth
The success of this migration today allows BEDIMO to steer its planning projects with a unified and secure vision. By stabilizing their logistical and financial processes under Odoo, the company now has an infrastructure capable of supporting its ambitions and managing large-scale sites.
